We're Hiring: Dance Researcher

Corali has been commissioned by Lambeth Council to produce a performance based large-scale project called ‘Danceology’ (working title). The project aims to reimagine Lambeth Town Hall as a living, breathing cultural space, and will draw on Lambeth’s rich history of social dance and movement. From these stories, Corali will create original choreographies that will then be performed by an intergenerational and integrated cast of dancers spanning different ages, cultural backgrounds and including both people who identify as disabled and people who do not.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic dance researcher to play a vital role in realising this project. The researcher will gather the raw material from which Corali will generate its renowned original and authentic choreography.

The process of the research will include delving into the Lambeth Council Archives, connecting with relevant organisations such as Ritzy in Brixton and Siobhan Davies Studios in Kennington, and connecting and interviewing local groups, such as Age UK, and Corali’s own community. The insights gathered through this research will be shared in a final presentation to an invited audience at Lambeth Town Hall in early December.

We strongly encourage applications from candidates of Black heritage and Lambeth residents.
