Company dancer Housni Hassan (DJ) becomes one of Corali's Associate Artistic Directors
Longstanding member of Corali, Housni Hassan (DJ) has become one of the company’s three Associate Artistic Directors in recognition of his input and commitment to the company.
DJ told us how he felt about his new title, ‘It shows who I am and the confidence I have in the company. I like to shape things, but this is for the whole team, we are all equals’.
DJ has performed in some of Corali’s key works, including recent highlights such as our 2019 film, Dancing to Art, commissioned by Tate, and our touring work Technicolour Everyday. He has also created solo work for the company, which he has toured internationally. DJ is also an invaluable part of Corali’s integrated delivery teams, and over the past 18 years he has been part of our important school partnerships and delivered many of our special engagement projects. DJ is such a brilliant role model for others and he is always keen to share his own dance journey and wisdom to encourage the next generation of dancers. He is such an inspiration.
“This new title for DJ recognises the important role he plays in Corali - from his amazing talent as a dancer to his fabulous skills as a facilitator. It is also recognition of DJ’s committed, generous and vital input into Corali’s ever evolving practice. DJ is an inspiration to work with and we are so lucky to have him in the company’
