21st Anniversary Programme
Corali has recently finished its 21st Anniversary programme that comprised 3 main events:
- Coming of Age: A Seminar Day at Tate Modern
- How Happy We Would Be: A new performance at Whitechapel Art Gallery
- Scapes: A collaboration with New Adventures at Sadler’s Wells (Lilian Baylis)
Coming of Age

Corali invited artists with and without learning disabilities to share a day of discussion and performances. Into art, Robin Deacon, Corali and Heart n Soul presented talks and performances. Artist Richard Layzell facilitated the day. The day sold out and the audience was made up of artists, school groups, community groups and arts educationalists. How Happy We Would Be
Corali took over the Creative Studio at Whitechapel Art Gallery to create a new performance to celebrate its 21st Anniversary. Corali dancers made use of their personal childhood memories and photographs to create the work.
The resulting performance was an intimate work that directly made use of the Creative Studio space, piano music, memory and plenty of cups of tea.
Scapes

Corali worked with New Adventures dancers to create a new collaborative performance. Dancers from both companies shared ideas about making movement over the period of one week. This work also included Corali dancers sharing their dance ‘scores’ with New Adventures dancers. On the day, Bethan Kendrick and Graham Evans performed Bethan’s score and New Adventures dancers performed DJ’s score; everyone performed in the new collaborative piece. This project was also part of Corali’s Visual Voices programme. Back to menu |
