Kick Up!

Corali 'kick started' its first Arts Award project for 14 - 19 year olds - Kick Up! The project included a week long intensive at Oval House Theatre, small group mentoring and workshops at Lansdowne School and Rathbone Youth Club. As part of the intensive all participants also created a performance for friends and family.

Big Dance
Corali led two events for the national festival, The Big Dance.

Dilston Grove - Mémoire
In partnership with Cafe Gallery Projects (CGP), Corali led a day of workshops at the gallery's recently renovated new space, Dilston Grove. Corali worked with young people from Bede House and the day culminated in a performance inspired by the gallery's inaugural show, 'Mémoire' by Sammy Baloji.
Make Some Shapes
Based around Corali's 'Scores' performances, Corali led a day of dance workshops at Battersea Sports Centre in partnership with Shape. The day culminated in a performance that was shown alongside Corali's own work.

DJ's Professional Development Project
DJ completed his 18 month long professional development project with Jonzi D productions, Matthew Bourne's New Adventures and Wayne McGregor | Random Dance.
The placement culminated in DJ creating his own choreography, 'Eshr8' devised by himself with one to one mentoring from Antoine Vereecken from Wayne McGregor | Random Dance . Bethan Kendrick, Graham Evans, and Jackie Ryan from Corali performed the piece along with Antoine and DJ. It was shown as a double bill next to Corali's 'Scores' at Paradise Gardens, Battersea Sports Centre and Greenside School, as well as at Cecil Sharpe House as part of Random Dance's own Big Dance event.

STEP
Corali competed its new integrated project led in partnership with STEP (Southwark Theatres in Education Partnership) with a final performance at the Siobhan Davies Dance Studios. The project also featured two students on placement from The Royal Academy of Dance. |

Laban
Corali was invited teach at Laban on its Community dance course.
Bethan, Jo, Jackie and DJ led students through workshop exercises based on their own recent choreographies. |

Talking Objects
Corali was invited to lead part of the British Museums 'Talking Objects' project.
This project was part of a larger programme at the Museum called
A History of the World in a 100 Objects. Corali collaborated with Westminster Kingsway College and the Museum team to explore a 13 thousand year old object, 'The Swimming Reindeer'. The work was performed at the Museums great hall. |

Visual Voices
Corali has now completed the new training programme Visual Voices. Visual Voices was led in partnership with new company Project Volume. This project was created to develop arts leadership skills for artists with learning disabilities. The project comprised: two 8 day intensives - one for choreogaphers to create dance ‘scores’ and one for visual artists to curate an art exhibition; an art exhibition at Truman Brewery that included a special Performance Lab; a facilitation skills course at the Saatchi Gallery; a weeks collaboration between choreographers with learning disabilities and dancers from New Adventures resulting in the performance Scapes; and outreach and education work for up and coming artists with learning disabilities. |

In June 2009 Corali completed its 2nd upst art programme for young and emerging performers leading towards a Bronze Arts Award. As part of the programme the young performers created a new performance, Fold that was shown at Sadler's Wells studios and also at Siobahn Davies Dance. |

Fast Forwardbackwardsandforwards

For 3 weeks in July, Corali worked with young people with moderate and profound learning disabilities at Fast Forward Youth Services. Young people were guided through the Arts Award curriculum combining dance and visual art workshops. The young people also created a performance, Fast Forward Backwards and Forwards. This was a truly magical experience transforming the centre spaces and wowing the audience. |

Step up2

At the same time as the fast forward workshops, Corali was also running a dance course as past of Southwark's Summer University. Five young people with learning disabilities came together for 3 days to create a new performance based on their exploration of architecture. |

Bridging Project
Corali led a residency at Bridge School in Islington. The residency culminated in a performance at Sadlers Well's studios. As part of this project, Corali also hosted placement for 4 dancers from the Royal Academy of Dance. |

Right to the Heart Conference
Corali was invited to contribute to the Right to the Heart Conference at Oval House Theatre. The theme was inclusive arts practice for young people. Corali dancer and educationalist DJ, led a workshop session and participated in a panel discussion. |

upstart 'Too Many DJ's' performance

Following the upstart 08 successful graduation performance ' Too Many DJ's' Corali's upstart ers performed again at Oval House Theatre in November and were invited to perform at the launch of the STEP forward festival at the Magic Eye Theatre in Peckham. |

The Big Dance

In July 2008 Corali took part in the Big Dance at the Scoop (just outside the Mayors office). Corali profiled two of its education projects: Spa School and Fast Forward Youth Services. On a very rainy day the sun came out for both performances and were enjoyed by everyone. It was a great opportunity for both groups to participate in this National Dance celebration. |

Summer University
During the summer of 2008 Corali delivered its 2nd Arts Award programme as part of Southwark's Summer University. Once again the programme was a great success with all six participants taking part in a graduation performance and passing the course! |

Morley College - Dance and Performance Workshop
Corali Dance Company and Morley College worked together to deliver a 10-week dance & performance project. |

Creative Partnerships
Corali worked with a special school in Stevenage, as part of Creative Partnership Hertfordshire Scheme on a year long programme. A website has been created to profile all the projects that were part of this scheme. |

Audience Development

Corali led workshops for 19+, Fast Forward, and Spa School based on the
ideas of the its performance Easy Listening. Children from the school
came to see the performance and loved it. Comments included, 'They were
dancing just for me' and 'now I know people with learning disabilities
can dance, I want to!'
